Core Design, founded in Derby in 1988, created Tomb Raider in 1996, launching one of gaming's most iconic franchises. Although the studio no longer operates, its legacy is permanently part of Derby's identity: a section of Derby's inner ring road was named 'Lara Croft Way' and Lara has a Made in Derby star. For the city's current creative and gaming scene, Core Design is proof that world-changing entertainment products can originate from Derby.
